Team Objectives

* As a charity, the teams first objective is to provide and promote healthy and active lifestyles for Breast Cancer survivors through dragon boat activities. We want to promote dragon boating as healthy exercise that improves the physical fitness for breast cancer survivors. This is complemented with team fitness classes, pool practices and individual training through the off season; and to raise awareness of exercise in preventing breast cancer and it's recurrence.

* By participating in Dragon Boat festivals we are raising public awareness about achieving full active, healthy lives after a breast cancer diagnosis. We aim to create awareness and support for Breast Cancer survivors through our presence in the community.

* To inspire and educate others, while celebrating survivorship beyond breast cancer

* Breast Cancer Survivors participating with teams experience the empowerment of taking control of their lives both physically and emotionally.  We benefit by coming together in support of each other and provide awareness to the community at large. Physical well being, emotional support and learning from each other's experiences have a direct affect on overall survival.

* We provide camaraderie, support and encouragement to each other.

* Promoting breast cancer awareness by becoming more visible and active in our community is an ongoing objective of the Ribbons of Hope. Along with racing in dragon boat festivals our team activeley volunteer's and participates at the Relay for Life, Terry Fox Run the Run for the Cure and many other community and local events.
